Hi everyone!
Here are the results of Cryptex Keeper Rewards (CKR) Season 1, covering governance contributions from January 2026 to June 2026, following the approval of CIP-6.
As originally stated, this initiative is a step towards more robust governance: one where incentives are aligned and active participation is properly recognised.
A total of 16,505.93 CTX will be distributed to elected Keepers based on their contributions:
-
16,505.93 CTX → Keeper rewards
-
1,845 CTX → Task Force
-
20,397 CTX → Returned to the DAO treasury
This is in line with the caps established in the original proposal.

1. On-Chain Contributions
The first component of the rewards was based on on-chain contributions, specifically voting participation.
As approved, Keepers were ranked from 1–3 based on participation:
-
80–89% → Rank 1
-
90–99% → Rank 2
-
100% → Rank 3
This calculation only considered participation in CIPs, excluding Optimistic Voting CIPXs.
Participation and Pool Utilisation
When drafting the initial RFC, active delegate participation was sitting closer to 27. However, the programme was modelled around 20 eligible Keepers, and the on-chain caps were set on that basis.
The original 27,192 CTX pool divided across 20 assumed Keepers at full participation resulted in the 1,359 CTX per-Keeper cap used throughout the programme.
We expected the number of eligible Keepers to settle naturally, although we should also have considered that a live rewards programme could potentially increase participation rather than decrease it.
In practice, only 6 Keepers cleared the 80% threshold:
-
dnkta: 100%
-
DesertDwelr: 85.71%
-
just my 2 satoshis: 85.71%
-
gordinh0x: 85.71%
-
winverse: 85.71%
-
umlordpug: 85.71%
The gap between the 20 assumed Keepers and the 6 actual eligible Keepers resulted in:
-
6,795 CTX distributed on-chain
-
20,397 CTX returned to the DAO treasury
2. Off-Chain Contributions
The second component was based on off-chain contributions, focusing on engagement with Cryptex’s deliberative process around RFCs, proposals, and initiatives, as well as contributions to ecosystem visibility.
Governance Engagement
A total of 7 RFC to CIP instance and 5 live community discussions and initiative were considered. Keepers were ranked 1–3 based on the impact of their engagement, particularly where contributions Influenced or changed the final proposal, provided relevant feedback or fostered active discussion and engagement
Ecosystem Visibility
To account for ecosystem visibility and the social media efforts made by Cryptex, we collected engagement data involving Cryptex’s account during the programme period.
Rather than tracking this manually, we scraped X data directly to create an engagement leaderboard and then assigned a 1–3 weight based on overall engagement impact:
| Engagement | Weight |
|---|---|
| >500 | 3 |
| >250 | 2 |
| >150 | 1 |
Considerations
This first iteration of CKR establishes a baseline and we’ll continue refining the programme with the community and further define what robust governance and the Keeper role should look like for Cryptex.
We also encountered some challenges that can help sharpen the governance process going forward.
Keeper Registry
To properly match Keepers and contributors to their wallets, we encourage the creation and upkeep of Delegate Threads for everyone actively participating in the DAO, or alternatively using an ENS name that can be reflected in the voting UI.
To be crystal clear, this does not entail any requirement to disclose identity or act as KYC. It is simply a mechanism for matching wallets to Keepers.
Communication Channels
With Discord serving as a core channel for deliberation, we suggest opening dedicated threads per topic to enable more streamlined conversations and improve signal-to-noise.
At the same time, we encourage using forum comments as the more structured channel for laying down thoughts, comments, and feedback.
RFC → CIP [FINAL]
To properly reflect the final versions of proposals, we suggest signalling an RFC post as [FINAL] by editing the forum post once all relevant feedback has been incorporated.
The on-chain vote is ultimately what is set in stone, but character and format limitations make the forum post the more useful reference point in the meantime.
Task Force
The Task Force appears in the on-chain voting count because we voted on each of the 7 CIPs, but it did not allocate itself any on-chain or off-chain rewards. The on-chain pool was originally announced at 27,192 CTX, based on 20 assumed Keepers and a 1,359.60 CTX cap per Keeper. The cap actually applied throughout the programme was rounded to 1,359 CTX, leaving approximately 12 CTX unaccounted for against the announced pool.
These leftovers will also be returned to the DAO treasury.
Thank You
We’d like to wrap up by thanking @Lcedeno24 for his engagement throughout the process, as well as @dnkta.eth and all the other Keepers who provided feedback, insight, and support which is fundamental in order to think of a next iteration.
