## Hey there! 🤓

Following the recent [CKR Season 2 discussion](https://forum.cryptex.finance/t/rfc-cryptex-keepers-rewards-ckr-season-2/604), I wanted to open a separate conversation about something that I believe could complement the existing rewards program.

The exchange surfaced what might be a broader opportunity:

**How do we help people move from being interested in Cryptex governance to becoming sustained, valuable contributors?**

I don’t have all the context on Cryptex’s current operations, so consider this an invitation to explore the idea together rather than a fully developed proposal.

### **1. Beyond participation: building contribution capacity**

I see two complementary functions for a DAO:

**Governance and oversight:** Delegates review proposals, represent token holders, exercise independent judgment, and hold decision-makers accountable.

**Contribution and development:** Community members actively help the organization achieve its goals through research, coordination, business development, governance improvements, and other forms of meaningful work.

A DAO that only votes on proposals may provide valuable oversight, but it also leaves much of its community’s potential unused. A DAO that creates opportunities for people to take responsibility and produce results can become an additional source of capacity for the protocol.

I suspect this could also improve retention. People are more likely to remain involved when they understand where they can contribute, develop relationships, take ownership, and see the results of their work.

### **2. The missing connection: a shared work agenda**

One observation from @dnkta.eth particularly resonated with me:

> [@\[RFC\] Cryptex Keepers Rewards (CKR) - Season 2](https://forum.cryptex.finance/t/rfc-cryptex-keepers-rewards-ckr-season-2/604/15):
>
> From what I’ve seen, there isn’t a clear shared work agenda connecting delegates with the core team’s activities.

I think we should clarify:

- What are Cryptex’s most important priorities and challenges right now?
- Which of those could benefit from DAO contributions?
- What responsibilities can contributors realistically take on?
- What support, information, or resources would they need?

Even identifying two or three concrete opportunities where Keepers could add value would be a meaningful first step.

### **3. Community calls as working spaces, not just updates**

I wonder if we could make calls more collaborative. For example, **biweekly working calls** where the core team and interested Keepers can:

- Share relevant priorities, challenges, and context.
- Identify opportunities where the DAO could contribute.
- Coordinate ongoing initiatives and address blockers.
- Help newcomers understand where they could get involved.

The goal would be for participants to leave with a clearer understanding of what can be done together, rather than simply knowing what has happened. A short public recap would also help people who cannot attend synchronously.

### **4. A lightweight path to meaningful contribution**

My suggestion would be:

**Coordination:** Identify priorities and opportunities where the DAO can contribute.

**Onboarding:** Help interested Keepers build the context, relationships, and capabilities needed to take on those opportunities.

**Rewards:** Recognize sustained involvement and meaningful outcomes, building on CKR where appropriate.

I would also consider small, predictable stipends for participants taking on consistent responsibilities, where justified. These could help people commit time without depending entirely on uncertain rewards.

### **5. A starting point:**

Given that we’re already in mid-October, I wouldn’t expect us to implement and evaluate a new contribution process before the end of CKR Season 2.

Instead, I’d suggest a more modest goal:

**Use the remainder of 2026 to explore whether there’s interest in building a shared work agenda and, if possible, identify a few concrete contribution opportunities.**

A possible sequence:

**October–November | Explore**

Use this discussion to gather perspectives, understand existing efforts, and identify whether the core team and interested Keepers would be willing to collaborate.

**November–December | Align**

If there’s enough interest, organize an initial working session to discuss Cryptex’s priorities and identify potential opportunities for DAO contributions.

_Desired output: A few clearly defined contribution opportunities, ideally with interested contributors and an understanding of the support they would need._

**2027 | Build on what we learn**

Depending on the outcomes, explore whether a more consistent coordination process would be valuable.

These insights could also inform the design of CKR Season 3, if there’s interest in continuing the program.

### **6. Who needs to be involved?**

I imagine this would require collaboration between:

**The core team** , to share strategic priorities, operational constraints, and areas where community contributions could be valuable. BTW, I don’t even know who ‘The core team’ is… I hope @Lcedeno24 can clarify this for me.

**Interested Keepers** , to contribute perspectives, and potentially take responsibility for specific initiatives.

**Community contributors and governance service providers** , including @SEEDGov, who could share their experience with engagement, incentives, and existing coordination efforts.

I would also be happy to help organize and structure an initial working conversation, drawing on my experience facilitating distributed teams and governance processes.

### **7. Start small, keep treasury discipline**

I share the concerns raised by @dnkta.eth and others about preserving Cryptex’s treasury.

Let’s first see what we can accomplish with one working session, an existing communication channel, and a simple shared document. We can build on existing community calls (if there are any) and governance processes.

The goal is making better use of the community’s existing capabilities and the resources Cryptex already invests in governance.

### **8. Two questions to get started**

1. Is there interest in the DAO playing a more active role in Cryptex’s development, beyond governance and oversight?

2. Are there existing initiatives or coordination efforts we should build on rather than duplicate?

Curious to hear what others think!

✌
